This can be a sign of a long process involving Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp users. The main difference between the two messaging platforms is that WhatsApp stores device chat information in addition to end-to-end encryption (along with an ad-free experience). For this reason, WhatsApp can only be used on one device.
The reference points to the creation of a table in a local database on Facebook Messenger, which is needed to manage messages and services. There are other elements that Facebook Messenger can use to find out what WhatsApp users are blocked, click WhatsApp notifications, and chat recipient details.
Message content is not shared with Facebook servers. Therefore, the messenger application must include a new protocol for cross-chat between Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. It is not known whether Facebook uploaded this local database to synchronize it across devices. One of Facebook Messenger's features is that you can send and receive chats from several devices at the same time.
We need to remind you to see this story as speculation because application developers are subject to the plan down.
Can I disable all of this?
As I said, we don't have that much information. Personally, I think every WhatsApp user must give their approval to be found on Instagram or Facebook, but for the right answer, we have to wait on Facebook. If you don't trust Facebook and have problems, this option might benefit you.
All this will damage privacy on WhatsApp?
WhatsApp messages are encrypted end to end and stay that way. WhatsApp also encrypts messages and media when you save your chat history in iCloud (currently under development).
Confidentiality is one of their main principles, which will always be determined by the company, and we believe it will always be.
Does this mean that Facebook has collected messages on WhatsApp
NOT. This is a local database that will contain these messages in the future. Because WhatsApp messages are encrypted throughout, Facebook is likely to import signaling protocols to encrypt and decrypt messages that are already used by WhatsApp.
Facebook uploads the database to its server to save it for other devices
