The South Korean technology giant produced 8.3 million of the total 24.1 million units in the quarter. This corresponds to 34.1% market share.
Huawei came in second place with 8 million 5G phones shipped between January and March and offered a 33.2% share. Huawei had the advantage early last year with 6.9 million 5G phones, slightly ahead of Samsung with 6.7 million.
This was followed by Vivo and Xiaomi, who were also in a fierce battle with 2.9 and 2.5 million units, respectively. Oppo completes the top 5 ranking with 1.2 million 5G phones and 5% parts. All other players only manage 5% in combinations.
